Introduction

The Project

This project involved creating a poster for a fictional exhibition for a famous designer. In this case Massimo Vignelli.

The Challenge

The poster had to include elements that the designer was famous or well known for. In Vignelli’s case he was the man responsible for creating the NYC subway signage along with various other design trends that are still around today

The Solution

The solution was lean into the NYC subway iconography along with simple pastel colors to pop the icons from the NYC subway lines while also making use of the trainlines that are featured on maps of the subway. These elements combine to create a unique yet cohesive design that celebrates Vignelli’s designs while still being pleasing to look at.
